The Robert Sibson Hall was opened fifty years ago, the final stage of the momentous project to build the Zimbabwe Academy of Music.

SATURDAY 17 MAY AT 6.00 P.M. AND SUNDAY 18 MAY AT 3.00 P.M. SIBSON HALL 50TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
The fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Sibson Hall will be marked by a concert featuring the choirs of Girls' College and Whitestone School plus prize-winners at the recent eisteddfod.
Admission: $3.00 / VIP including wine and snacks: $15.00.
Tickets available from the Academy and the music departments of Girls' College and Whitestone School.

MONDAY 19 MAY AT 6.30 P.M. SIBSON HALL 50TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT: ELIZABETH FRENCH (PIANO)
Elizabeth's programme is entitled 'Edward Bache: 'The English composer for whom we have so long been waiting''. Bache was a precocious talent who died aged only 24 in 1858 and his music features along with works by composers who particularly influenced him. The programme will include:
- Bache: Brilliant Polonaise; Berceuse; Sur Les Lagunes; Souvenir d'Alger
- Chopin: Nocturne in G minor, Op.15/3; Berceuse
- Liszt: Consolations Nos.2 & 3
- Mendelssohn: Song Without Words in E major,Op.19/1
- Schubert: Impromptu in E flat major, Op.90/2
