4) Notices and Events BULAWAYO HELP NETWORK TRUST APPEAL Bulawayo Help Network Trust (BHNT) has been operating in Bulawayo for 20 years. We support over 500 pensioners in retirement and private homes and if we include the high density community with a feeding scheme and an orphan educational program, we support over 600. We are a relational charity and know every one of our beneficiaries. We assess each person and only when we are sure all other means of support have been exhausted, do we step in. We are concerned about the well being of people residing in retirement complexes. Our staff focus on this, and we and have regular Creative Therapy Sessions in most of the homes. In order for our charity to be sustainable and become a community project we have been encouraging business donors to commit to a monthly donation for which we are able to provide tax deductibility. CHRISTINE, TICH AND FRIENDS Bejazzled is an evening of live music incorporating jazz, funk and Southern African styles and there will be popular jazz standards, a John Lennon song and some original material. Tich Makalisa is a seasoned jazz pianist and composer who studied at the Academy under Derek Hudson but has been based in South Africa and Europe for the last two decades. Having performed at numerous festivals and jazz clubs worldwide, he has returned home and will be performing in Bulawayo for the first time since his schooldays! Christine Nyoni, the Academy's vocal teacher, hails from Kenya and is a very experienced performer who has appeared several times at the Academy as well as in Kenya. Her versatility is her strength and she is comfortable singing a variety of genres. Tich and Christine will be backed by Misheck Ngorima on bass and Erastus Nleya on drums to form a quartet.
