A celebration of her life in the service of The Lord will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 11th at Wynnbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Geoff Hammond officiating. The family will receive guests and friends at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home, Macon Road from 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 10 th. Mrs. Beaty was born to Travis and Hettie Osborne in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her younger brother, Travis Osborne, a dentist in Lebanon, Indiana, was deceased in 2012. Her only sister, Cheryl Osborne, resides with her husband, David, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Beaty attended Juliard School of Music in New York City where she studied voice and obtained her bachelor of religious education from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Married to Rev. Bob Beaty, she served with him in Zimbabwe and South Africa as a missionary with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for 30 years. She is preceded by his passing in 2009. Mrs. Beaty is survived by four sons, Jack Beaty and wife, Lucilita of Charlotte, NC, Dr. David Beaty and wife, Pam of Durban, South Africa, Dr. Stephen Beaty and wife, Jane of Columbus, GA, and Timothy Beaty and wife Mariam of Brisbane, Australia. She had seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Eyecare To The Needy Inc. through West Georgia Eyecare Center. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff and memberships of Wynbrook Baptist Church and Edgewood Baptist Church for their loving support.
